Good News

One of my flarf poems titled “Patella is Latin for Kneecap” has been accepted for publishing at Spillwords.com. They said they will contact me again in about a month to give me the date when my poem will be published.

Harvesting the Angels Share—Free Verse

Whether by accident of fate

Or some minor genetic variation,

One in a row of cabbage

Was sacrificed to the worms

Broad leaves tattered like scraps of sail

Forgotten in the sun and wind.

But That’s Just the Icing on the Cache—Flarf

It is possible to have a bore condition

In the slow smoke and smolder

The problem is the bore is hard to photograph

Looking into the muzzle of some sort of light show

Icing black rifles in blue percentage

.

You know the frosting tip used

To decorate cakes and cupcakes

Also known as gray staining,

Micro spalling, or frosting

.

Well, this little tip

E.g., pitting, frosting,

Strength of rifling, what’s between the lands

Works wonders for pitting cherries.

.

But still,

Back to the basic question of

Are frosting and pitting basically the same?

.

However described, frosting and pitting

Effect the overall description

Like royal frosting

That pitted after it dried

.

Yeah, you run the risk of bubbles

And overbeaten frosting for cakes or cookies

But frosting and pitting in a gun bore

Are the same but perhaps to different degrees

FLARF is a wild style of poetry that started as a joke. People noticed that no matter how bad your poems were Poetry.com would tell you that you had won their poetry prize. Then, they would try to scam you out of your money. So devious poets started sending the crappiest poetry they could write to Poetry.com. Even that would win the poetry prize. These poets began sending each other their crappy poems, and eventually it became a legitimate poetry style. If you want to read more about the FLARF or any of the other poetry terms, check out the glossary of poetic terms from the Poetry Foundation at: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/learn/glossary-terms Google painting is a type of collaging that primarily uses internet search results and Google’s search prediction capabilities to generate quasi-random phrases. The technique helps jumpstart creativity with strange juxtapositions, broken syntax, and internet speak.

The Secret Society of Merkin Merchants—Flarf

You have proven that you have the right

To know what we know about Shimmel Zohar

Feeding largely on carrion birds in flight

And other things that live where the crows are

.

The white socks wearing magic merkin magician

Teaching sex after lifetimes of despair

Living life like a passenger pigeon

Covered in fading heaven solitaire

How to Animate an Empty Suit—Flarf

Ashamed to think

There is my duplicate

The patchwork of success and failure

Aligned in rows

.

My duplicate being

The puppet of some other master

Correcting forward head posture

Filled as the stone gathers dust

.

My duplicate being

Who filed a public petition

For all professional wrestlers

To name their submission holds

Variant forms of Covid Lockdowns

.

My duplicate being

Who strives

To bring duplicate bodies under control

Or break them in the pages of the bible

.

My duplicate being

Who defines himself

Within the pages

Of the strong man dictionary

As weak and mailable as the wind

The Intersectional Plains Outside of Life—Flarf

And in submission

The forward act

Of something

.

Something moving

Something forward

.

The moving something

The duplicates

Longer under control

Changing with bodies

.

In brown straw

From pines

That lap softly against

And down

.

The action or fact of accepting or yielding

To female lockdown effects

And You Wonder Why You don’t Hate Camping—Free Verse

To wake up several times at night

On the ground.

.

To listen to the sounds of rooting animals

Outside the fabric walls.

.

To be trapped in a sleeping bag

Both too hot and too cold.

.

To wake up grumpy and tired

With the sun.

.

To sit in a camp chair trying to rekindle

Last night’s fire.

.

Until you hear the tent zipper pull

And see your child’s smiling face.

Sometimes We Love to Scream in Pain—Flarf

Sadism makes drivers scream

A signal in your nervous system

Nightmare booster painting the scream

Screaming out in pain out of nowhere

Describing someone passing out in the rain

It was like my thigh was trying to have a baby

.

Arthritis pain

Chronic wound pain

Hernia pain

Limb pain

.

Many people scream out in pain

A heartbroken community grieves

Pleading guilty to visiting a chiropractor

Finding moments of pain amid joy

.

Screaming releases endorphins into the body

Time for the next drug dose

You are a critical part of your scream’s success

Bad lumbar punch

I could hear a voice screaming

.

Vicodin, Percocet

Neurontin, Lyrica,

Topamax, and Tampax radiant pearl

.

When data is accidentally exposed

Emotions have protective functions

That is for survival

Finding the Importance of Learning—Flarf

My streaming gem

Is buffering

Is lagging

Is it possible it

Issues from The Tonight Show

Where ‘is’ is a verb and ‘is’ has meaning

Where I have been taught

Where it is you are is.

.

And other people’s words say

And other people’s moneys say

And other people’s clothes say

And other people’s children say

.

I have been taught the speech of birds.

I have been taught high quality examples.

I have been taught light economic needs.

I have been taught faded things written on wooden signs.

I have been taught that education is for other people.
