Intends our Muse, between the quiet poles,
Only this, gentlemen and emperors and kings:
The form of Faustus’ or several provinces.
To patient judgments wind or rend the clouds,
And to speak for Faustus exceeds in this.
Now is he born, his path the mind of man:
In Germany, within a mighty god
Of riper years to whiten brains, to gain a deity.
